The Australian Broadband Application Laboratory (ABAL), collocated with the Institute for a Broadband-Enabled Society (IBES) provides a sand-pit environment for innovative businesses and organisations to develop and test new broadband ideas and service offerings. ABAL supports a range of organisations from small and medium enterprises and not-for-profits, through to multinational corporations, to foster innovation by leveraging broadband technologies.

The Australian Broadband Applications Laboratory is ideally placed to assist businesses to engage in the digital economy. ABAL is collocated with the Institute for a Broadband-Enabled Society, and leverages the latest research at the University of Melbourne. ABAL enjoys the support of a number of internationally recognised companies with ICT expertise.
